NLC AND RED CROSS DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO FLOOD-AFFECTED COMMUNITIES IN NKOMAZI

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC), in partnership with the South African Red Cross, distributed food to communities affected by floods earlier this year during a relief initiative held at Schoemansdal Community Hall on Thursday, 8 October 2026.

The initiative, held in the Nkomazi Local Municipality within the Ehlanzeni District, aimed to provide much-needed assistance to residents who continue to face the effects of the devastating floods.

The food distribution forms part of efforts to support vulnerable households and help affected communities recover from the impact of the floods, which disrupted lives and livelihoods earlier this year.

Through this partnership, the NLC and the South African Red Cross demonstrated their commitment to humanitarian support and community relief, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.

The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration between organisations in responding to disasters and addressing the immediate needs of affected communities.

The food parcels are expected to provide relief to beneficiaries as they continue rebuilding their lives following the floods.
