Premier Mandla Ndlovu Opens Alexandria Clinic in Bushbuckridge

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu has officially opened Alexandria Clinic in Bushbuckridge, bringing primary healthcare services closer to more than 21,000 residents from Alexandria and surrounding villages.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ndlovu welcomed the new facility, saying it would improve access to healthcare and reduce the need for residents to travel long distances to seek medical attention.

However, despite the clinic's opening, residents will not have access to round-the-clock services due to budget constraints.

Ndlovu explained that the clinic would not operate 24 hours a day, advising residents who require medical attention after hours to visit nearby healthcare facilities that provide services around the clock.

Meanwhile, Mathibela traditional leader Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena welcomed the opening of the clinic, saying it would ease the burden on community members who previously had to walk long distances to access healthcare services.

Mokoena also commended the community for supporting the construction process and allowing the project to proceed without disruptions.

He praised residents for not establishing business forums that demand a percentage of government-funded projects, highlighting the importance of allowing development initiatives to proceed without unnecessary interruptions.

The opening of Alexandria Clinic marks a significant step towards improving access to primary healthcare in the area, although the absence of 24-hour services remains a limitation for residents who may require medical attention outside normal operating hours.
